The 1st IFMA School World Championship 2026 was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 16th to 21st, bringing together more than 1,400 young athletes from over 50 countries around the world. The championship marked a historic milestone for youth Muay Thai, showcasing exceptional talent, sportsmanship, and international unity.

Representing the Sri Lanka Muay Thai Federation, a contingent of 41 athletes participated in the prestigious event and achieved remarkable success by winning a total of 50 medals, including 14 Gold, 7 Silver, and 29 Bronze medals.

Among the standout performers was IMA – Sri Lanka Muay Thai Club, which sent 14 athletes to compete at the world championship. The club delivered an outstanding performance, securing 17 medals, including 11 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, making it one of the most successful clubs in the Sri Lankan contingent.

IMA – Sri Lanka Muay Thai Club is led by Master M.H.M. Fahid, who serves as both President and Chief Trainer. Under his leadership, the club has grown into one of the largest and most successful Muay Thai institutions in Sri Lanka, producing numerous national and international champions.

This remarkable achievement is the result of the athletes’ hard work, discipline, dedication, and the expert guidance of Master M.H.M. Fahid. His commitment to developing young athletes and promoting Muay Thai in Sri Lanka has played a vital role in the club’s continued success on the international stage.

The achievements of IMA and the Sri Lankan team at the IFMA School World Championship 2026 have brought great pride to the nation and demonstrated that Sri Lankan Muay Thai athletes can compete successfully against the best young fighters in the world.
