Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has officially announced that the India National Men’s Cricket Team will tour Sri Lanka in August 2026 for a two-match Test series, marking another highly anticipated chapter in the longstanding cricketing rivalry between the two nations.

The series will form part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–2027 cycle, making both matches crucial in the race for valuable championship points. With both Sri Lanka and India aiming to strengthen their positions in the WTC standings, the series is expected to deliver high-quality, competitive Test cricket.

According to the media release issued by Sri Lanka Cricket on July 2, 2026, the opening Test match will be played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium (GICS) from August 15 to 19, while the second and final Test will take place at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo from August 23 to 27. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. local time.

The Galle International Cricket Stadium has long been regarded as one of Sri Lanka’s strongest Test venues, renowned for its spin-friendly conditions and picturesque setting overlooking the historic Galle Fort. The venue has witnessed several memorable encounters between Sri Lanka and India over the years and is expected to once again provide an exciting contest.
