The highly anticipated Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 is set to take place from 10th July to 5th August 2026, marking the sixth edition of Sri Lanka’s premier domestic T20 tournament.

Organized by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), the tournament will once again bring together top local and international cricketing talent, continuing its reputation as a competition with a strong global appeal.

Matches will be played across four venues :

  • Sinhalese Sports Club Ground (SSC), Colombo
  • R. Premadasa Stadium (RPICS), Colombo
  • Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (PICS), Pallekele
  • Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium (RDICS), Dambulla

These venues are expected to provide exciting conditions and vibrant atmospheres for fans throughout the tournament.

The online registration portal for foreign players will officially open on 4th May 2026, allowing international cricketers to sign up and be part of one of the region’s fastest-growing T20 leagues.

The tournament will be conducted in partnership with The IPG Group, the official event rights holder, ensuring a professionally managed and globally marketed competition.

Since its launch in 2020, the Lanka Premier League has rapidly grown into a key fixture in the international cricket calendar, showcasing Sri Lanka’s cricketing talent while attracting stars from around the world.

Mr. Samantha Dodanwela, an Executive Committee Member of SLC, will continue in his role as the Tournament Director, overseeing the successful organization of the event.

With growing popularity and strong participation expected, LPL 2026 promises to deliver another thrilling season of high-quality T20 cricket for fans both locally and globally.
