Pakistan Cricket Team Arrives in Sri Lanka Ahead of Three-Match T20I Series
The Pakistan men’s national cricket team has arrived in Sri Lanka ahead of the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series scheduled to take place from January 7 to January 11. The short tour forms part of Pakistan’s final preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to begin next month in India and Sri Lanka.
The first contingent of players — including all-rounders Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf, and pacers Mohammad Wasim Jr and Salman Mirza — landed in Colombo on Sunday night, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Head coach Mike Hesson, bowling coach Ashley Noffke, the fielding coach, and other key support staff also touched down with the group.
PCB officials confirmed that the remaining players and support personnel will depart from Lahore on the afternoon of January 5, completing the touring party ahead of practice sessions and match preparations in the Sri Lankan capital.
The three T20Is are scheduled as follows:
- 1st T20I: January 7
- 2nd T20I: January 9
- 3rd T20I: January 11
All fixtures are expected to be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, giving both sides vital match practice in conditions similar to venues likely to host the global event later this season.
