Malaysia’s ‘ShadowFax’ Motorbike Team Tours the Island, Promoting Sri Lankan Tourism
ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්රය ප්රවර්ධනය කරමින් මැලේසියාවේ ‘ShadowFax’ යතුරුපැදි කණ්ඩායම දිවයින පුරා සංචාරයක
ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සංචාරක ව්යාපාරය නගාසිටුවීමේ අරමුණින් බසීවර්ඩ් ඉන්ටර්නැෂනල් ලංකා පුද්ගලික සමාගම (Buzzword International Lanka Pvt Ltd) විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද යතුරුපැදි සවාරිය සාර්ථකව අවසන් විය. ඒ අනුව යතුරුපැදි සවාරිය අවසානයේ දී මැලේසියාවේ ප්රමුඛතම ව්යාපාරිකයන්ගෙන් සැදුම්ලත් ‘ShadowFax’ යතුරුපැදි සමාජයේ සාමාජිකයින් අද (16දා) තරුණ කටයුතු හා ක්රීඩා අමාත්ය සුනිල් කුමාර ගමගේ මහතා හමුවිය.
2013 වසරේ සිට ‘කොළඹ යතුරුපැදි සතිය’ (Colombo Bike Week) අඛණ්ඩව සංවිධානය කරන බසීවර්ඩ් ඉන්ටර්නැෂනල් ආයතනය, මෙවර මැලේසියාවේ ප්රධාන පෙළේ ව්යාපාරිකයන් පිරිසක් ශ්රී ලංකාවට ගෙන්වා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කර ඇත.
ShadowFax කණ්ඩායම ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සංචාරයක නිරත වන දෙවන අවස්ථාව මෙය වන අතර, මීට පෙර ඔවුන් 2016 වසරේදී ද මෙවැනිම සංචාරයක් සිදු කරන ලදී.
වසර 25ක පළපුරුදු යතුරුපැදිකරුවෙකු වන දතෝ මුරුගා නාන්තම් (Dato Muruga Nantham) මහතාගේ නායකත්වයෙන් පැමිණි මෙම කණ්ඩායම, ඇමරිකාවේ නිෂ්පාදිත එන්ජින් ධාරිතාව 1500cc – 1900cc අතර වන සුපිරි ‘හාර්ලි ඩේවිඩ්සන්’ (Harley Davidson) යතුරුපැදි භාවිතා කරමින් දිවයින පුරා සිය ගමන සිදු කළහ.
අප්රේල් 06 වනදා සිට 17 වනදා දක්වා ක්රියාත්මක වූ මෙම සංචාරය කොළඹ, යාපනය, පාසිකුඩා, ආරුගම්බේ, මහියංගනය, මහනුවර, නුවරඑළිය, බණ්ඩාරවෙල සහ හික්කඩුව යන ප්රදේශ ආවරණය කළේය.
මෙම සංචාරය හරහා ශ්රී ලංකාවට අමෙරිකානු ඩොලර් 100,000කට අධික විදේශ විනිමය ආදායමක් ලැබී ඇති අතර, එයට හෝටල් නවාතැන්, ගුවන් ගමන්, ඉන්ධන, ආහාර පාන, පුද්ගලික වියදම් මෙන්ම මෙරට පුණ්ය කටයුතු සඳහා කරන ලද පරිත්යාගයන් ද ඇතුළත් වේ.
අද (16දා) ගාලු මුවදොර හෝටලයේදී පැවති මෙම විශේෂ හමුවේ දී ක්රීඩා අමාත්ය සුනිල් කුමාර ගමගේ මහතා අදහස් දක්වමින් කියා සිටියේ, මෙවැනි ඉහළ ආදායම්ලාභී සංචාරකයින් මෙරටට ගෙන්වා ගැනීම තුළින් සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයට ලැබෙන දායකත්වය අතිමහත් බවයි. ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ‘Bikerholics’ යතුරුපැදි සමාජයේ සාමාජිකයින් 17 දෙනෙකු ද මෙම කණ්ඩායමට සහය දක්වමින් එක්ව සිටියහ.
බසීවර්ඩ් ඉන්ටර්නැෂනල් ලංකා ආයතනයේ සභාපති තිලක් ලෙස්ලි (Tilak Leslie) මහතා සහ කළමනාකාර අධ්යක්ෂ නීල් හසීම් (Neil Hassim) මහතා ප්රකාශ කළේ, තරුණ කටයුතු හා ක්රීඩා අමාත්යාංශය, සංචාරක ප්රවර්ධන කාර්යංශය, පොලිස් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සහ රේගු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව ඇතුළු රජයේ ආයතනවල පූර්ණ සහයෝගය ඇතිව ඉදිරියේදී මෙවැනි තවත් දැවැන්ත ජාත්යන්තර යතුරුපැදි සංචාර සංවිධානය කිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන බවයි.
Malaysia’s ‘ShadowFax’ Motorbike Team Tours the Island, Promoting Sri Lankan Tourism
The motorcycle tour organized by Buzzword International Lanka Pvt Ltd with the aim of boosting Sri Lankan tourism has concluded successfully. Following the completion of the ride, members of the ‘ShadowFax’ Motor Cycle Club, comprising leading Malaysian businessmen, met with the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Hon. Sunil Kumar Gamage, today (16th).
Buzzword International, which has consistently organized ‘Colombo Bike Week’ since 2013, brought this group of prominent Malaysian entrepreneurs to Sri Lanka for this event. This marks the second time the ShadowFax team has toured Sri Lanka, following a similar visit in 2016.
Led by Dato’ Muruga Nantham, an experienced biker of 25 years, the team traversed the island riding high-capacity American-made ‘Harley Davidson’ motorcycles ranging from 1500cc to 1900cc. The tour, held from April 6th to 17th, covered Colombo, Jaffna, Passikudah, Arugam Bay, Mahiyanganaya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Bandarawela, and Hikkaduwa.
The tour generated over USD 100,000 in foreign exchange for Sri Lanka, encompassing hotel accommodation, flights, fuel, meals, personal expenses, and donations made to local charities.
Speaking at the special meeting held today at the Galle Face Hotel, Sports Minister Sunil Kumar Gamage stated that attracting such high-net-worth tourists contributes immensely to the tourism industry. Seventeen members of the ‘Bikerholics’ Motorbike Club of Sri Lanka also joined the convoy to support the visiting team
The Chairman of Buzzword International Lanka, Mr. Tilak Leslie, and Managing Director, Mr. Neil Hassim, expressed their intention to organize more large-scale international motorcycle tours in the future with the full support of government institutions, including the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Tourism Promotion Bureau, the Police Department, and the Customs Department.
